Ducks in a Row?

The world we live in today makes it easy for people to justify or qualify their decisions.  Have you ever found yourself saying something like this:

  • It's a little white lie, it's not like it's hurting anyone!
  • I can't help it, this is just who I am
  • So I got mad, big deal, he/she started the argument
  • The devil made me do it
  • I'm just being honest, or, I tell it like it is
  • It's not really gossip if it's all true, right?

While these rationales often sound good when we're the ones saying them, what happens when you're on the receiving end?  How do you feel when someone treats you poorly and that's the explanation you are given for their hurtful words or actions?  And even if we're the one voicing those sentiments, let's talk about that slippery easy is it for us to slide from a few seemingly minor slip ups in the challenging areas of our life to consistently responding in a way we're not proud of?

The pace of life can be fast, and we often default to what was modeled for us when we were young, or what we 'practice' the most.  Join us for a candid new series that takes a look at what God's Word has to say about evaluating behavior and choices.   Learn how to stand strong when the actions of others hurt you, and how to review your own habits and practices as well.  Nothing's too big for God, and with His help we can be honest about ourselves and take steps in the right direction.
